Christians who enter the military are under two commissions. You are commissioned by our Lord to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) and you are commissioned by the military to serve our country. The purpose of this blog is to provide a dialogue about how to fulfill both commissions.
The main focus of this blog is explore how the seven character qualities (7CQ) of a disciple are similar to the character qualities developed in military men and women. You can see a Biblical example of this in the blog entry, The Faith of a Soldier.
The 7 Character Qualities of a Disciple compared to Military:
- Supreme Love for Jesus – Commitment
- Regular Study of God’s Word — Training
- Deny Self as Focus of Life – Discipline
- Submission to Will of God — Submission/Sacrifice
- Allegiance to Follow Christ – Allegiance/Follow
- Recognize God Owns Everything – Stewardship
- Love Others – Service/Love
